About Us
Hey Microgreens! is a small Ottawa urban farm that produces nutritious and pesticide free products.
From the beginning, the idea was to produce food for our family table, with all the benefits of healthy, nutritious and delicious food.
We now want to share our products with you!
Our story starts with Adam dreaming about being a farmer like his grandfather and sharing the same experience of planting, growing, harvesting and enjoying fresh produce with his children. Given that Adam lives in the city and he was not going to change his urban home for a farm anytime soon, he needed to come up with a novel solution.
To do so, he conducted his research, purchased special equipment and started growing plants on his property. He created the perfect environment for growing plants and seedlings and found a way to give his family a similar experience as to when he was young. This is how microgreens became a part of our life.
We are a couple dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our family and community. We want to share our experiences and products to everyone who is looking for fresh, high quality, healthy products for their family.

The Microgreens.
Microgreens are the start of a plant right after the germination stage, and before it becomes a harvested vegetable. It is a very young plant in between its first and third week of growth (depending on the seed), and that is why it’s highly nutritious. Microgreens have a higher nutritional value than their adult counterparts with a more concentrated flavour and more nutrients like magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and 40 times higher levels of antioxidants than the fully grown vegetable.
